Your data travels with you

Everything you've added to Dewllio — every item, room, value, warranty date, serial number, and note — lives in one place. When you need it somewhere else, open Settings → Export data and Dewllio builds a clean CSV of your full inventory on the spot.

The file is a plain, standard spreadsheet: one row per item, one column per field. It opens straight into Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, or anything that reads CSV — no special software, no proprietary format, no cleanup required. If you're still filling out your inventory, the home inventory page walks through what each item can hold.

A home inventory is only useful when you can actually hand it over. After a burglary, fire, or flood, insurers and adjusters want an itemised list with values and dates — and a Dewllio CSV gives them exactly that, ready to attach to a claim instead of reconstructing it from memory.

The same export earns its keep on a move. Print it as a room-by-room packing checklist, share it with movers for a valuation, or use it to confirm nothing went missing between the old place and the new one. It's the one document that captures what you own, room by room.

Dewllio treats your inventory as your data, not ours to hold hostage. The export exists so you're never trapped: whatever you put in, you can take out, in a format any other tool can read. There's no premium tier gating your own records behind a paywall to get them back.

That principle runs through the whole app. Your inventory stays private and encrypted in transit — you can read more on the private & secure page — and if you ever choose to delete your account, Dewllio permanently removes your data. Export first, and you keep a complete copy for yourself. Know what you own, and keep it that way.
